Emotional
Support
All staff at Women’s Health are trained to be sensitive and understanding.
We strive to treat all patients with dignity and respect.
In addition, professionally trained counselors are available to assist
patients in a number of ways:
Decision Counseling
Women's Health offers support for a woman or couple who are struggling
with a decision about an unintended pregnancy. Our counseling staff
is professionally trained, with graduate degrees in counseling. We offer
non-judgmental support for you as you go through your own ethical and
emotional process. We can suggest decision-making techniques that may
be helpful to you. We will not make this decision for you or try to
influence your decision. We are here to listen and to provide support
for you, your partner or family.
Abortion Counseling
You will meet with a counselor at the time of your abortion appointment.
The counselor will provide information about the procedure, aftercare,
and contraception, and answer any questions you may have. The counseling
session provides a "safe space" for you to talk about how
this experience has been for you, and any emotional or ethical issues
that are important to you. Counselors are available to provide emotional
support before, during and after the procedure.
Post-Abortion Counseling
We offer a post-abortion counseling session at no charge and at any
time, even years after the procedure. You may want a safe and confidential
place to talk, and we provide that for our patients. Your well being
is important to us.
Referrals
We can also provide referrals for other kinds of support and assistance
available through our colleagues in the Boulder Community.
